KEVIN DEYOUNG (M. Div., Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary) is the Senior Pastor of Christ Covenant Church located in Matthews, North Carolina. He is also chairman of the board of the Gospel Coalition, blogger for DeYoung, Restless, and Reformed, assistant professor of systematic theology at Reformed Seminary (Charlotte, North Carolina) and doctoral candidate at the University of Leicester. He is the author of several books, including Vie de fou , The Crack in Our Holiness and What does the Bible really teach about homosexuality?

Un livre que j'aime beaucoup et qui aide à comprendre davantage les dix commandements de Dieu ! Un livre qui édifie et reste fidèle aux Ecritures.

En voyant le titre de ce livre, j’avais déjà l’eau à la bouche; quand j’ai su qui en était l’auteur, j’étais ravi. Je me suis dit : « Ça ne peut qu’être bon! » Je ne me trompais pas.
Dès l’introduction, De Young nous rappelle l’importance des dix « paroles » que Dieu a données à Moïse et ce que le fait de les négliger a eu comme impact sur les sociétés contemporaines. Il pose ensuite deux questions fondamentales :

1) Pourquoi étudier les commandements?
2) Pourquoi les observer?
L’étude qu’il présente en réponse à ces questions n’est pas exhaustive (il faudrait un livre bien plus volumineux pour cela), mais il parvient à nous brosser un tableau sur chacun des commandements, avec des arguments qui nous amènent à conclure avec lui que OUI, nous devons les observer. De plus, un guide d’étude couronne le tout. Un régal à déguster… et à partager.
