Un regard différent sur Dieu, la souffrance et le mal
John FeinbergPresentation
How can a loving God allow terrible things to happen in our lives?
Christians often think they are equipped to deal with tragedies that may arise in their lives. However, like most people, they think that they will probably never have to go through these kinds of experiences. What happens when we follow God's will to the best of our ability and our hearts are broken by trials? Are we always sincere when we pray and ask God to do his will? Do we only trust God when things are going well or when our trials are bearable?
John Feinberg is in a good position to speak to us about trials and suffering. In 1987, his wife was diagnosed with an incurable genetic disease. He and his wife, Patricia, were tested in their faith and approach to God's goodness in the face of the scourge of suffering. In addition, they discovered how their Christian community misunderstood how to support people in crisis.
This book presents the problem of suffering from all angles. Based on his experience, the author approaches the question of the righteousness of God by examining the nature of God and of grace. He explores the biblical reasons why we should avoid platitudes and clichés when speaking to people in pain. Then, he presents an approach that can genuinely comfort and encourage those who are struggling.
