<transcy>Be diligent - Marc (Soyez appliqués - Marc)</transcy>
Presentation
“For the Son of man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life a ransom for many” (Mark 10:45).
Compassion! Our society sorely needs to rediscover the meaning of sacrifice for our neighbor. In his account of the Gospel, Mark never ceases to put forward the supreme model: the Messiah in action, tirelessly responding to the physical and spiritual needs of the multitude. He is the devoted Servant of God, full of goodness, going so far as to lay down his life on the cross for the sins of the world.
This is the heritage reserved for the disciples of Jesus, so that the Church may continue her ministry on earth. What a task, both a privilege and a requirement!
"Is there a reward for the true disciple?" Yes, there is: he becomes more like Jesus Christ and one day he will share in his glory. Satan promises you glory, but in the end, it is suffering that you will receive. God warns you that you will have to suffer, but, in the end, that suffering will be transformed into glory ”(W. Wiersbe).
May this commentary encourage you to be applied in your commitment to God and to your neighbor!
