<transcy>Precise Church History (Précis d'histoire de l'Église)</transcy>
Jules-Marcel Nicole (1907-1997), son of Pastor Albert Nicole, originally from Geneva, was born in Berlin. After secondary studies in French-speaking Switzerland, he went to Paris to study classical literature at the Sorbonne. He then resided at the Biblical Institute of Nogent, where he also took courses and then received his diploma, before going to the United States where he obtained a license in theology at Gordon College, near Boston.
A benchmark figure for the French evangelical world, he carried out a teaching ministry of exceptional longevity at the Biblical Institute of Nogent (from 1931 to the 1990s). Professor from their origins at the Faculty of Protestant Theology of Aix-en-Provence as at the Faculty of Evangelical Theology of Vaux-sur-Seine, he received from Gordon-Conwell Seminary the title of Doctor of Theology honoris causa.
