Confessions of an atheist surprised by God

Guillaume is a reasonable atheist. Deeply atheist. His work as a financial IT consultant is overwhelming. His practice of national volleyball and the growing success of his music group helped him considerably in his feminine conquests. But her hitchhiking encounter with an ex-model will have an unexpected impact on his beliefs.

Throughout his testimony, atypical and moving, Guillaume addresses the major philosophical questions that led him to believe in God. He does not shy away from any subject: morality, the relationship between faith and science, the supernatural, the problem of evil, the reliability of the Bible.

With exceptional intellectual rigor, remarkable authenticity and sparkling humor, he takes the reader on his own questions and his surprising discoveries.

Recommendations

"How does a French atheist end up becoming a Christian theologian?" In the same way that an atheist American journalist like me ended up becoming a Christian apologist: by the grace of a loving and persevering God who cares deeply for each of us. But let's not spoil the surprise: read this exciting book for yourself. Who knows if, through Guillaume's story, you will not hear what this loving God wants to tell you? »
- Lee Strobel, author of Jesus: The word is in defense and Plea for the faith , main character of the biographical film Jesus, l 'survey

“Guillaume Bignon is a man who really has his head on his shoulders. He knows not only how to articulate his faith clearly but also how to speak as much to the heart as to the intellect. Faith for its reasons was sorely lacking from the shelf of the French-speaking Christian library. The most tenacious of atheists cannot remain indifferent to reading such a book. »
- Timothée Paton, international speaker, author of Leave the Beach!

"Guillaume's story captivated me! I am sure it will encourage and inspire many readers. "
- Josh McDowell, author of Much More Than a Carpenter and The Verdict, Further Investigation

“Fascinating! Extraordinary ! Funny ! Intimate! Intense ! Once reading has started, it is difficult to stop because over the pages the reader meets an endearing, talented, complex character, and so on! What is most remarkable, sometimes confusing, is to observe his journey which culminated in his conversion as well as in a meteoric growth in his knowledge of the gospel. William is today an ambassador of Christ in his professional environment and, at the same time, a servant of the Church through his lectures and his writings. To read and have them read without moderation. "
- Mike Evans, President of Gospel 21

“This book is a pure delight! Guillaume's testimony is striking and his humor is catchy. I was marked by his arguments in favor of the existence of God and the purpose of life. He is an expert on the subject! I highly recommend this book! »
- David Nolent, director of TopChrétien

"An intellectual journey as well as a life journey, Guillaume Bignon's courageous book will delight all those in search of meaning and truth. The originality of this autobiographical book, accessible to a wide audience, is that it never separates the existential and spiritual journey of an ex-atheist converted to Christianity from the desire to constantly give reason for his faith. An undoubtedly stimulating reading, where the hand of God is implicit in a life that it directs and leads, without ever sparing it having to humbly acknowledge its wanderings as much as its successes. »
- Charles-Éric de Saint Germain, professor of philosophy in preparatory classes, Author of The Defeat of Reason (ed. Salvator, 2015)

"As an atheist, I appreciate Guillaume Bignon's popularization efforts to present apologetics in clear and accessible language. This philosophical discipline encourages Christians to leave behind the faith of the coalman and, on the contrary, to reflect rigorously on the questions raised by belief in God. I can only encourage such a step! I recommend this book to both apologists and aspiring atheologists alike. »
- Jean-Michel Abrassart, doctor in psychology, author of 60 questions on the paranormal (ed. Mardaga, 2016)

"The story of Guillaume Bignon is simply incredible. Once again, here is an atheist deeply determined to discredit Jesus and Christianity, but whose life will be fundamentally turned upside down. How? 'Or' What ? By having to face both the facts about Jesus' life and the events of his own existence. »
- Gregory Koukl, founder and president of the apology site Stand to Reason, author of Tactics (2009) and The Story of reality (2017) at ed. Zondervan
