Can a Christian make happiness the goal of his life? Yes, answers John Piper! Because God created us to be happy in Him. This is what the author calls “Christian hedonism”. Controversial term, yet fully faithful to the biblical injunction:
"Delight yourself with the Lord". Our reason for existing is to glorify God by finding in him our eternal happiness. When God thus becomes our treasure, the source of our complete satisfaction, he is fully honored! The greater our satisfaction in God, the more he is glorified in us.
