<transcy>Kings to Esther (Rois à Esther)</transcy>
This Book of Kings is like an echo of divine judgment. Each king is weighed in the scales and a sentence is pronounced on him. We do not know the name of the editor, but we find that the theocratic spirit permeates his writing.
The Chronicles, Ezra and Nehemiah together form a historical work, written from the point of view of Judaism after the exile, and of which we find the prophetic parallel in the Old Testament. In the Jewish canon, the book of Esther is part of the Hagiographs. It is a roll for holidays, the roll par excellence.
