"David Helm has written the most effective, concise, and useful book I have read on text preaching. "
- MATT CHANDLER, pastor and president of the Acts 29 church planting network
"If I were teaching a preaching class and could only recommend reading one book to students, it probably would be this one." She is a rare gem who introduces the subject to the novice as well as she instructs the experienced person. David's humility convinces, rebukes, instructs and encourages me as a preacher. I pray that she will do the same for you. »
- MARK DEVER, pastor and president of 9Marks
"David Helm's preaching skills and his vast experience as a preacher teacher make anything he says on this subject of great value. However, I read it with all the more interest since it is committed above all to “remaining faithful to the text, without ever making it say more than it said nor minimize the text by reducing its force or its richness". One finds in him not only competence and wisdom, but also the fidelity which generates the most authentic treasures of the preaching. »
–BRYAN CHAPELL, President of Covenant Theological Seminary; pastor of Grace Presbyterian Church
“Mr. Helm has given us a finely crafted and most conclusive compendium of what must be understood and practiced in order to faithfully preach the Word. It is a major work. »
- R. KENT HUGUES, pastor and author of the book Man of God: Practice piety
“In this little book, David Helm distills key principles and ideas that have encouraged many in the preaching trainings of the Charles Simeon Trust. I have seen men return to the hard work of preparing to preach after taking David's classes. May this book produce similar results in abundance! "
–PAUL REES, pastor of" Charlotte Chapel "
“I love to see the reactions of people when they learn with astonishment that textual preaching is the first of the '9 essential traits of a growing Church. good health". Textual preaching confirms and explains this priority. David Helm urges us to convey the right message clearly. May God use this book to help you faithfully preach for the health of the Church and the glory of God! "
- H. B. CHARLES FILS, pastor of “Shiloh Metropolitan Baptist Church”
