<transcy>Everyday Church (L'Église au quotidien)</transcy>
How can we spread the Gospel in our neighborhood? How to fulfill our daily mission?
Most people have no intention of joining a church. For them, the name of Christ is a thing of ancient history. Some churches are growing, but this is mainly due to the mobility of Christians, more than to a real growth of the Gospel. Our evangelization efforts imagine that our fellow citizens have a Christian culture. We think we need to adapt worship to bring people in. But generally, worship remains largely disconnected from the concerns of our neighbors. Changing our practices in the Church does not affect them.
As Tim Chester and Steve Timmis the explain in L 'Church in everyday life , we therefore need to meet those who do not have a Church where they are, in the context of their day-to-day life - with an emphasis on the creation of attractive communities rather than organizing attractive events. The authors are based on the first epistle of Peter whose Church context is very similar to ours. This book could change your expectations and the way you think.
“This book by Chester and Timmis is filled with biblical reflections and practical wisdom for daily neighborhood ministry in our modern Western culture. »
