Presentation

Tens of thousands of churches around the world practice some form of elder leadership because they believe the Bible teaches it. Unfortunately, because advocates of the doctrine of elders have shown themselves so unable to present it properly, there is much confusion and misconception on the subject among most elder-led churches. Persistent and crippling misconceptions prevent churches from practicing authentic Bible teaching regarding elders.

This topic is too important for the local church to remain mired in such confusion. This work is therefore primarily intended for churches which are led by elders, but who do not fully understand what their true nature and mandate are in the biblical sense. Its purpose is to define, as precisely as possible from Scripture, what an elder should be and what should do according to the Bible.
