At the age of twenty-eight, I openly declared myself to be a lesbian. I had just completed a doctorate in literature and cultural studies. Universities m enlisted to advance radical left ideologies in administration and education. J believed that I was helping to make the world a better place. My interest in the faith was purely intellectual, and I did not intend to change.

I have not asked to convert to Christianity. How could all of this happen to a smart girl like me?

Rosaria Champagne Butterfield was a full professor in the literature department at Syracuse University. After her conversion to Christianity in 1999, she taught at Geneva College where she worked with students. She is married to Kent Butterfield, pastor of the First Reformed Presbyterian Church in Durham. Rosaria is now looking after her children full time. She takes part in several conferences where she talks about her unusual journey towards the Christian faith.
